Our Annual Picnic and Club Hunt was held this year
on Saturday, October 16, 1999. The weather was great again
and everyone got plenty of good food, fellowship and best of
all plenty of great coins, relics and tokens to find. Most
of us now realize that we are going to have to get into better
shape for the upcoming detecting season.
Rules and A few details concerning our Annual
Picnic and Hunt can be found here.
Enjoy our second picture portfolio below. We
appreciate the hard work our club officers and committees accomplished
in putting on this club event. Not to be forgotten as
well, thanks to those who donate the super prizes we all competed
for. Sure was nice seeing member spouses and children
enjoying the day as well, hey -- that's what it's all
about.
- Activities prior to the Hunt - Just how the coins
are buried! We use a bent tubular conduit and after just
penetrating the ground the tube is bent upwards and the coin
is dropped in.
Works very well and for the number of coins buried and
the task can be accomplished in a very short time. Four
fields are laid out for the various hunts and club volunteers
"plant" the items to be recovered.
